Builder - LU Simon
L.U. Simon Builders Pty. Ltd. was established as a building and construction company in 1955. The company was owned and controlled by Professor L.U. Simon, the founding Professor of the School of Building at The University of Melbourne.
The activities of L.U. Simon Pty Ltd were taken over by L.U. Simon Builders Pty Ltd (the present company) in 1983. This company was established expressly for the purpose of introducing employee involvement in the ownership of the business. This change enabled Peter Devitt and Les Gordon, two senior managers and long serving employees, to become shareholders with Professor Simon.
Since inception the Company has developed a broad base of experience in all types of building construction involving a wide and varied client base in the commercial, industrial, residential and institutional market. L U Simon Builders Pty Ltd have consistently demonstrated a flexible approach to building based on a team approach and as a result have developed and maintained a reputation for outstanding performance.
In the last five years alone, LUS have won more than twenty leading awards for excellence and construction. These Awards have been won at a State and National level for new construction, refurbishment and renovation project works including as winner 2005 'MBAV Builder of the Year 2005'. The company has traded successfully through several cycles of the building and construction industry in Melbourne.
The company has an extensive portfolio of residential apartment development in Melbourne and specialist experience in residential tower development in the CBD, Southbank, and Docklands. Accordingly they are experienced in the construction/engineering issues associated with sites similar to Triptych and the management team assigned to the Triptych project has wide experience in the designated development type.
